Rocky. Lyrics and composition by Emily Linge
My dear friend I’m in awe
My darling Red Fronted Macaw
You’re so beautiful and kind
Enjoy all the love you can find
We found you in a pet shop cage
The ring on the foot told your tender age
Malnourished and weak, with a broken beak
You may not have made another week
We named him Rocky for his fighting spirit
The vet couldn’t see how Rocky did it!
The beauty of his feathers shine flying through the air so divine
We named him Rocky for his fighting spirit
Rocky doesn’t belong behind bars
He likes to listen to our guitars
His powerful beak might give you a fright
His scream says “You! Get out of my sight”
But he thrives with attention and care
And enjoys all the time we can spare
A flip or a phrase that’s him in an ace
So Rocky spread your wings in plenty of space
We named him Rocky for his fighting spirit
The vet couldn’t see how Rocky did it
The beauty of his feathers shine flying through the air so divine
We named him Rocky for his fighting spirit
Red Fronted Macaws are rare, in fact they might disappear
Their home in Bolivia’s protected and ways to breed them are detected
We named him Rocky for his fighting spirit
The vet couldn’t see how Rocky did it
The beauty of his feathers shine flying through the air so divine
We named him Rocky for his fighting spirit
We called him Rocky for his fighting spirit
