I hope you enjoy my rendition of “La Bohème”, one of the most famous songs by the French singer-songwriter of Armenian origin Charles Aznavour, known in every part of the world. He was one of the most influential musicians of all time, as well as being an icon of French and Armenian culture.
Written in 1965 by Jacques Plante and Aznavour himself, “La Bohème” is a song with a subtle mix of sadness, romance and melancholy. The song has been reinterpreted by many artists of different languages, it has for protagonist a painter who remembers his youth, spent to
Montmartre recalling the time when he had no occupation and tried to earn something with hard work. The song ends with a view of the painter’s old house, which many years later seems to be filled with sadness. As with many other songs, this one was recorded by Aznavour in Italian, Spanish, English, German, and in Portuguese keeping the original title.
