I hope you enjoy my rendition of "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procil Harum, one of the most successful singles in history, with over 10 million copies sold worldwide. The song was written and composed by Keith Reid, Gary Brooker and Matthew Fisher, and published in 1967. A song with a cryptic but at the same time engaging lyrics that even today both critics and fans can't fully explain. "A Whiter Shade of Pale" represents one of the first examples of fusion between pop and classical music, a poignant melody loosely inspired by the Aria on the fourth string from Bach's Suite No. 3 in G major with more than 1,000 known covers recorded by other artists, including the one of the extraordinary Anny Lennox. Many versions have also been recorded in other languages as well as French (Le Jour du Dernier Jour), German (Tränen im Gesicht), Portuguese (Ao Meo Lado Outra Vez) and many others. The song is also featured on the soundtrack of many films and Tv series.
